Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Retires
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has announced his retirement from football, the 34 year old Manchester United striker has been battling a knee injury over the last 4 seasons. He will stay at Man Utd as a coach.
Personally I think its a great shame if he could have got back to his form from a few years ago he would have taken an important role in the current season, with Wayne Rooney injured I think he could have had a good season even he was coming off the bench, with Man Utd's start to the season any help would be appreciated. They are in need of some good strikers at the moment and could struggle in the Champion's League this year.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will always be remembers for scoring the winning goal in the 1999 Champions League final against Bayern Munich.

Premier Weekend Round Up
With all the Premiership favourites failing to get a win this weekend its Man City on top of the pile, their 1 - 0 defeat of Man Utd has left Alex Ferguson's team winless after three matches. Chelsea and Arsenal both drew 1 - 1 against their opponents.
Chelsea are currently 2nd followed by Wigan and Everton, even though we all know you cant tell anything after just 3 matches I find it a surprise that Chelsea are 5 points ahead of Man Utd already and in a long season these failure to win for Man Utd could become costly towards the end of the season.

How's The Premiership Looking So Far
With some teams playing the 2nd game of the new English Premier League it looks like Chelsea are putting on a strong start to the season with two wins, also joining them on two wins are Everton and Man City, probably not the Manchester team most people are expecting to be towards the top as again Man Utd manage another draw, they drew 1 - 1 in a fiery game that ended with both sides down to 10 men.
Chelsea won 2 - 1 against Reading to maintain their 100% record, Reading went ahead in the first half with a goal from Bikey but Chelsea came out strong in the second half with two goals in 3 minutes scored by Lampard and Drogba.

Bad Start For Man Utd and Rooney
Today we saw a very bad start to the new English Premier League season for Man Utd, not only did they only draw 0-0 against Reading at home but Wayne Rooney is facing a spell on the sidelines after suffering a hairline fracture of his left foot.
The foot injury was caused by Michael Duberry when he accidentally landed on Rooney's left foot. Rooney will be doubtful for England's two Euro 2008 qualifiers against Russia and Israel plus the friendly against Germany which is scheduled in for 22 August.

Bernie Ecclestone is interested in buying Arsenal.
Just came across this news, Bernie Ecclestone who as we all know is the Formula One Supremo is interested in buying Arsenal football club. Though five directors who own 45% of the club have signed an agreement to resist any takeover that will run until April, this I think would probably stop a complete takeover but wont stop Bernie Ecclestone buying shares from the other 55% of club shareholders.
American sports magnate Stan Kroenke has also been linked with a possible takeover, having spent £65m for 12.2% stake in the club in the last year.
